HTP11427: Moving Users from MSM to WAM1PRO

While developing WAM1PRO for Production use and while Production MSM is still running and accepting new users, there needs to be a way to keep the VA(200 (New Person) file in sync between the two systems. Right now, the process is to create the new user on MSM and then use this procedure to copy them to WAM1PRO.

Materials and Skills Needed

  • MSM & YottaDB programmer's access
  • MSM & yDB command line execution
  • Knowledge of the Kernel/FileMan ^VA(200 - New Person File

Step by Step Instructions

PHASE I – Create a list of users to copy

You need the DUZ of each user you want to copy to WAM1PRO.

    1. If you are copying the latest new entries, look at ^VA(200,0) on MSM (CFL,LVA) and cfl on WAM1PRO:

      [CFL,LVA]^VA(200,0)=NEW PERSON^200I^24751^21156
      24751 is the last DUZ assigned in Production MSM

      >cfl ^VA(200,0)=NEW PERSON^200I^24724^21153
      24724 is the last DUZ in WAM1PRO

      So... there's 27 users in MSM that need to be copied to WAM1PRO (DUZ 24724 thru 24751)

    2. If a user is edited in Production MSM and needs the new information copied on WAM1PRO, the process is the same, only there will be just be one DUZ entered.

  1. Logon to CFL,LVA

  2. [CFL,LVA]> DO GO^zUSERMSM

    1. The system will respond with:
      Enter each DUZ for the user(s) you want to move:
      DUZ:

    2. Enter the DUZ for each user you want to copy to WAM1PRO
      The system will echo the User's name and JHED ID
      If the DUZ does not exist, it will tell you, “NO ^VA(200”
      DUZ: 24751 - JONES,TIFFANY - TJONE180  OK? Y/
      DUZ: 24752 - No VA(200 
      DUZ:

    3. Press Enter for each user to confirm

    4. When done, press Enter at the DUZ: prompt

    5. It will then ask you, “READY TO COMPILE? Y/”

    6. Press Enter or Enter YES to continue, NO to abort

    7. It will list the names of each user, as it writes the data to a host file on WAM1PRO
      OK, HERE WE GO...
      24725 – WHITE,ASHLEIGH
      24726 – BALL,KRISTY
      24728 - RAMON,XAVIERA

    8. When it is done, it will say:
      GLOBALS WRITEN
      DUZ LIST WRITEN

      All DONE

  4. You will be returned to the [CFL,LVA]> prompt

  5. Log off



Phase II – Load the users into WAM1PRO

  1. Log in to WAM1PRO

  2. Get to the >cfl prompt

  3. cfl> DO GO^zUSERMV

  4. It will say:
    READING SOURCE FILE
    DUZ list written to ^zUSERMV

  5.  READY TO COMPILE? Y/ Press Enter to continue

OK, HERE WE GO…

 Globals read and written.

Processing list & reindexing...

 24725 – WHITE,ASHLEIGH
24726 – BALL,KRISTY
24728 - RAMON,XAVIERA

ALL DONE

  1. cfl>

  2. YOU ARE DONE!!

  3. Log into FileMan and check a few of the new users
